I read once that the ancient Egyptians had 50 words for sand and the Eskimos had 100 words for snow. I wish I had 1,000 words for love, but all that comes to mind is the way you move against me while you sleep and there are no words for that

you've basically hit the nail on the head with your interpretation. of course, the poem is a personal recollection so i won't go into details.
i guess a lot of people can relate to feelings not being accepted. in my case, they were accepted.. he just didn't really understand them properly.
